Don’t you hate it when you’re making great progress with your car and then something that’s out of your control breaks?
Yeah so the clutch pivot arm for the alfa sheard in two today.
These are weak points for these cars anyway so it was bound to break eventually. But I can’t put the engine back in until I get this fixed. I mean i could but it’ll make putting the pedal box back in a royal PITA.

Actually, there’s one thing worse.
When you’re making great progress with your car and then you break something that’s completely in your control but you can’t fix.
That sucks balls.
Down to brass tacks though...Alfa!
Which one? Tell me all :)

It’s a ‘76 spider that i’m slowly bringing back to life while also adding my own personalization to it
I plan on it being close to-if-not full euro spec with the bumpers and un-nutered engine.
The engine is pretty close to being the “hot” 2.0L it just needs bigger cams because the webers don’t play nice with the U.S. FI cams

Niiice :) personally I’d do heinous things for a GTV6 or an Alfetta saloon. I’ve got a 156 V6 myself which I’ve owned for ages now and someday plan on swapping a 3.0l into :)
Has the clutch pin on yours sheared in the gearbox casing or has it just snapped and come out?

Accutally the part that broke was the arm that goes from the pedal box to the master cylinder. At the factory they used a rod that was tapered at the end and welded it to the arm and eventually over time the stress causes the tapered end of the shaft to break.

Aaaah. That’s a bummer.
Is there anything that people do to shore up any replacements? I know with the Triumph gearbox that’s going into my Spitfire 6 the clutch fork can break, but it shears a pin that holds it in place and then jsut turns on the shaft so fixing it is as simple as sticking another pin in to hold it in place :)
